Daddy, Mommy and the pictures

Yesterday Mommy was working on a project so Daddy and I got to play together. For a while we looked at pictures on the computer that Daddy was fixing and adding to the digital pitcher frame. There were a LOT of pictures! Daddy kept laughing his big laugh and sometimes he'd smile and get a look in his eye and would stop bouncing his knee. I'd tell him to "bounce bounce bounce, Daddy!" and he'd start again with a smile.

Lots of the pictures were from different places that Daddy told me about like Ireland or Costa Rica or Stone Harbor or New York and most of the pictures had Mommy in them. Daddy and Mommy looked happy in the pictures, even the ones that I wasn't in. I asked Daddy where I was then and he said I hadn't been born yet. He told me about how he and Mommy knew each other a long time ago when they we both teenagers, then they met up again when they were older. He told me how they became friends and would see each other and how it didn't take long before he fell in love with her.

"But your Mommy just wanted to be friends" he told me, "that was okay, I guess, but I had stronger feelings than that." He told me about how he left a note in her pocket one night that caused much confusion. Then he said he came home from a trip to find she's sewn a velvet pouch with his initials in it for him. Inside were pretty stones that she had collected for his favorite game and he knew she going to be more than just a friend.

"Eventually she let me kiss her" he told me. Daddy's eyes were far way and they shined. Then he looked at me and said "Nash, if you're a very good boy you'll be lucky enough to find someone like Mommy to spend your life with you," and he sniffled a bit and smiled a big smile at me.

I'm 2!

Today was my birthday! I'm 2 years old!
I spent the day with Mommy and Daddy. Daddy made me blueberry pancakes (yummy!) for breakfast, and then I opened presents. I got lots of cool stuff. I played with my new stuff, had a video call with Grandma and Grandpa, then talked to Aunt Karen and Grandmommy. We also stopped by Emma's house - she's a day younger than me and was having a party! I had pizza for dinner, then Daddy turned down the lights, Mommy came in with a homemade pumpkin pie with candles in it, and we all sung Happy Birthday to ME! I made a wish, blew out the candles and then ate pumpkin pie. Mmmmmmmm.
What a great day.

Christmas is Coming!

I love Christmas! First it starts getting cold, then people throw out their pumpkins, then the lights start twinkling and Mommy and Daddy start reading me the Santa books! I met Santa today, and he was so nice. I was the only one there for him so he took the time to read me his whole story and talk to me. Then we went around in the Civil War naval Museum and looked at all the boats! I can't want for Christmas!
